Cynthia Waddell

Cynthia WaddellCynthia D. Waddell, JD, is an internationally recognized expert on disability legislation and technology for people with disabilities.  Cynthia Waddell is the author of the first accessible web design standard for local government recognized as a best practice by the U.S. government. Cynthia Waddell's work includes accessibility oversight for the launch of the new State of California (MyCalifornia) portal as well as the Accessibility Style Guide for California webmasters.

Her accessibility efforts in the international arena have included participation in the Portuguese International Accessibility Board; an effort that led to Portugal's adoption of the Portuguese Accessibility Guidelines for web sites. She has published a number of papers on law and policy for information technology. She is a co-author of a popular book entitled "Constructing Accessible Web Sites".

Leo Valdes

Leo ValdesLeo N. Valdes, CCP, is the Managing Director of Vision Office, a training and web consulting firm based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He has delivered presentations related to Internet accessibility to the United Nations and representatives of South-East Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Central and Eastern Europe. He is a co-author of an upcoming book entitled: "Online Teaching Guide: From Lecture Enhanced to Virtual Learning"

Maria Cristina Sará-Serrano Mathiason

Maria-Cristina Sará-Serrano MathiasonMaria-Cristina Sará-Serrano Mathiason is the President of Associates for International Management Services (AIMS) in Mount Tremper, New York, USA (www.intlmgt.com ). She has served for many years as the United Nations representative of Disabled People's International and has wide experience in advising non-governmental organizations in lobbying in intergovernmental meetings and in organizing seminars and expert group meetings.

She is a graduate of Santiago College, Santiago, Chile, has studied at the University of Washington and works in English and Spanish.

John Mathiason

John R. MathiasonJohn R. Mathiason, Ph.D., is the Managing Director of Associates for International Management Services. He has developed a management training curriculum for the International Atomic Energy Agency, directed training courses on Internet policy and accessibility, directed a major evaluation of the work of the SSM Foundation of the Dominican Republic, and organized and directed training in implementation of human rights instruments for persons with disabilities.

As part of his work, Mathiason serves as an adjunct professor of public administration at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, and as an adjunct professor at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs of Syracuse University,delivering seminars on international public and NGO management.

Charles Kuhlman

Charles C. KuhlmanCharles C. Kuhlman is a Principal Associate of AIMS. He is the Director of Telecommunications for New York University with considerable experience in the development of teleconferencing and the application of new communications methods to the management of non-profit and educational institutions. He has an M.A. in public administration and has completed doctoral courses at Indiana University.
