I have been involved In various training activities for the empowerment of leaders of persons with disabilities in the Asia-Pacific Region and other parts of the world in view of my being an officer of the Disabled Peoples' International, the world federation of national organizations of persons with disabilities in 163 countries.

I have wide experience in activities such as disability rights advocacy, organizational development and management and fund-raising for programmes and projects of grassroots persons with disabilities - with particular interest in efforts related to the rehabilitation and empowerment of women and children with disabilities.

I have also worked as a media practitioner for 14 years in the Philippines both in the print and broadcast media in various capacities. I had experience and exposure as a writer/reporter, deskman/editor; anchorperson and division chief of a media outfit.

Currently, I am the national project director of a national rehabilitation project in the Philippines called Breaking Barriers for Children which provides free rehabilitation services (physical and occupational therapy, pre-school and special needs education training among other services) to more than 6,000 poor children with disabilities in the Philippines. We are also involved in the training of more than 400 regular public pre-school, primary and elementary school teachers on special needs education to provide and equip them with skills necessary for them to be able to accept children with disabilities for education in relation to UNESCO's trust of EDUCATION FOR ALL.

BBC is a project funded by the Danish Society of Traffic and Accident Victims PTU) and implemented by KAMPI or Disabled Peoples' International-Philippines for the benefit of disabled children. This is a project which showcases how disabled persons in developed countries can help in empowerment efforts for their peers in so-called developing countries like the Philippines.

Under the BBC, we operate 5 main rehabilitation centers and 60-community-based satellite rehab centers in 5 pilot regions of the Philippines.
