Know what you can provide
What is your added value? What do you know that cant be found elsewhere?
Original content vs. links
Notes:
The essence of knowing what you can provide is a clear sense of what you know, the information that you either have or can find. It is your added value. If you have none, then it would be better to merely point someone to a site where the information can be found. There is always a tradeoff between original content and pointing to other locations through hyperlinks.
As a rule, you should only put on content that cannot be found easily anywhere else, either because the information does not exist outside your site or because the analysis or use of the information that you provide is unique and different.
