Population

Indonesia has about 220 million of population ( female 120 million, male 100
million) and total number of person with disabilities about 6 million people.

• Impaired Eyesight : 1.6 million
• Mentally Retarded : .6 million
• Deaf and Mute : .6 million
• Cronical Diseases : 1.3 million
• Physic and Mentally Disable : .03 million

Terminology

1. Physically disabled people is an individual who has abnormal movement including : 
bone, flesh, and body joints in either its structure or function, thus this could a barrier 
for him to perform activities adequately.
2. Impaired Eyesight person is a person who does not have ability to see and count
his/her finger in one meter distance (totally blind and low vision)
3. Mental retarded as an individual that point outs mental and behaviour deviance
causes by the barrier in intelligence development and it hindrances this person 
to make life and involve in community activities

Social Services

Social Rehabilitation is a process of refunctionalization and development available
for an individual enable to conduct his/her social functions to help him/her carry 
out such functions adequately in social life
