Convention on the Rights of the Child
Adopted by General Assembly resolution 44/25 of 20 November 1989

Art. 2 "principle of non-discrimination"

The Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities
Adopted by General Assembly resolution 48/96 of 20 December 1993
Rule 6 states that "States should recognize of equal primary, secondary and
tertiary educational opportunities for children, youth, [

the education of persons with disabilities is an integral part of the educational
system" and that special attention is given to very young and pre-school children
