Information and communication accessibility via Internet for all
in Slovenia

Selected Draft Plans:

Goals:

1. to provide accessibility of information via internet communication for all citizens until 2006

2. to promote modern technologies' accessibility for all users with disabilities

3. to establish common information platforms for information and data, public in their nature

Strategic plan:

1. Evaluation of information accessibility via internet (form the viewpoint of the needs of different categories of users)

2. Analysis of information technologies managers and operaters (telekom, arnes, simobil...)

3. Encouragement of the creation of the national programme on information and communication accessibility for all.

4. Adapting and harmonisation of the legislation through joining EU and in accordance to concepts of UN Standard Rules and conventions.

5. Establishing a body for realising this goal.

Action plan:

2001

Preparation activities for project development, finantial resources provision.

1. Establishing an initial group.

2. Programme presentation preparation: 2.1. Internet page creation 2.2. Opening of possible information channels

3. Start lobbying

2002

1. Programme presentation to the government, proffessionals and user

2. Presentation of programme evaluation criteria

3. Analysis, interim report

4. Provision of resources for programme continuation

5. Preparation of national programme starting-points

6. Establisment and training of several regional accessibility centres for persons with disabilities

7. Performing of educational programmes for end user

2003

1. Adoption of national programme together with operationalization

2. Programme completion

3. Implementing sub-programmes emerging form the national programme.
