Guidelines for Preparation of a Country Paper

Your country paper should cover the following components (4-5 pages):

  1. Review of achievements and shortcomings in the implementation of the BMF at the inception of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons (2003-2012) in your country;
  1. Your views/plans on the BMF implementation of your country for the rest of the Decade, especially with regard to:
    1. Indicators for monitoring the implementation progress;
    2. Institutional mechanisms for monitoring the implementation (e.g., National Focal Point on Disability, National Coordination Council on Disability, National Statistical Office);
    3. Capacity building and technical cooperation (e.g., disability assessment, disability budgeting, project assessment from disability perspective), and
    4. A rights-based comprehensive national policy.

Please submit your country paper to the UNESCAP Secretariat, Ms Aiko Akiyama at <akiyama@un.org> before 31 August 2004.
