Opening session
The Meeting will be inaugurated at 0900 hours on 2 June 2003, in the Conference Room,
UNCC. Please refer to the detailed provisional agenda and programme or work on specific
information on subsequent sessions.
Registration and identification badges
Participants are requested to register and obtain meeting badges at the Registration
Counter, located on the ground floor, UNCC, between 0800 and 0845 hours on 2 June 2003.
Please complete the pre-registration form as indicated in the confirmation of
participation letter. Participants who are not able to register on the opening day are
requested to do so on subsequent days, to ensure that their names appear on the list of
participants.
For identification and security reasons, all participants are requested to wear the
meeting badges at all times during the meeting, at social functions and in the United
Nations Complex.
Working language of the meeting
The Meeting will be conducted in English and all documentation will be in English. No
interpretation will be available.

Participants are requested to bring with them all documents that they have downloaded.

Financial and administrative arrangements
UN ESCAP will cover the cost of travel and stay of UN ESCAP sponsored participant at
United Nations established rates. Kindly note that UN ESCAP will not assume responsibility
for the following, under any circumstances:
- All expenses in the home country incidental to travel abroad, including expenditure for
visa, medical examination, inoculations and other such miscellaneous items and internal
travel to and from the airport of arrival and departure in the home country;
- Salary and related allowances for the participants during the period of the Meeting;
- Costs incurred by participants in respect of travel insurance, accident insurance,
medical or dental bills or hospitalisation fees in connection with their attending the
Meeting;
- Compensation in the event of death or disability of participants in connection with
their attending the Meeting;
- Any loss or damage to personal property of participants while attending the Meeting or
losses or damages claimed by third parties as a result of negligence on the part of the
participants;
- Any other expenses of a personal nature, not directly related to the purpose of the
Meeting.
- Eligible participants whose attendance are sponsored by UNESCAP will be provided with a
daily subsistence allowance during the 2nd day of the Meeting at prevailing United Nations
rates in local currency.
